  1. Folks, the Director of GC Water has willingly cooperated and shared information I have requested NONE OF WHICH HAS BEEN USED IN EITHER OF THESE WATER QUALITY POSTS. I believe he is highly professional but constrained. I would find it hard to believe that he has been complicit in attempts to hide any water quality results from the public.

  2. Have added to the post the various types of E-coli related infections and illnesses from an earlier post. Helps to reinforce the threats Gold Coast residents have been facing through lack of information from GCCC.

  3. Have attached better quality image…Highlighted in Lilac at the bottom of the image are the health risks associated with various levels of Enderococci.

  4. We used to live by a major river that suffered pollution problems regularly. The council had signs up with a QR Code that you used with the QR app on your phone and it took you to the council website and gave you the water quality for that area.
    Worked brilliantly

  5. John Wayne John, thanks, I agree. I have another report based on Enterococci testing that states at the time of the report Paradise Point, Jabiru Island and Coombabah each had the highest readings as they are downstream from Coomera River. The signs need to be placed in those various areas quickly. Equally important is the need for URGENT and regular e-Coli testing across the catchment and testing for possible marine life contamination. All results available to the public. If the results are negative then the public and tourists get peace of mind. If positive then at least everyone has the opportunity to decide how high a risk to take when they or their children enter the water.

  6. And downstream… some of the Gold Coast’s most popular fishing and marine recreation spaces. Lack of appropriate Warning Signs should be considered criminal.

  7. Gold Coast Water has stated that they will be rolling out a new water monitoring system in 2020, which will enable them to provide detailed results to the public. However, this will initially be confined to the major rivers on the coast. They have also stated that they will be conducting comprehensive water analysis across the Coombabah Catchment in 2020. The question remains, WHY WERE RESIDENTS KEPT IN THE DARK about the quality of water they were swimming, fishing and boating in all these years and how many peoples health was impacted as a result? The other questions that remain are a) When in 2020 for the river testing? b) When will the system be rolled out through our various catchments? c) When and which locations will be involved in the comprehensive analysis of the Coombabah Catchment? d) When will testing begin on the identified Possible Acid Sulfite Soils? e) When will soil core sampling begin in the adjoining area where residents observed the black mud flow?
