Massive queues formed outside Brisbane Departments of Transport and Main Roads on Thursday as Optus customers lined up to get new licence.
There were about 100 people waiting outside the Chermside TMR branch just before 8am, with the line snaking down towards Gympie Rd.

One Optus hacking victim said he had anticipated a lengthy wait. [but they’re used to lining up for covid tests and injections. She’ll be right!!]
“I’m just hoping the process is fluid inside otherwise it could be a wasted morning,” he said [but what the hell it’s free. She’ll be right!!]
“It would make more sense if the government designed a portal but we have to make do. [but they can’t capture you on their new facial recognition technology from a portal!]
“One week queuing for Covid tests, next week new license numbers.” [not a single thought as to why, but she’ll be right!!]

At the Sherwood TMR office about 40 people were queued waiting for new licenses by 8.45am, with some forced to wait outside after the waiting room overflowed.
One woman said she came early at about 8.30am thinking she might escape a repeat of yesterday’s long queues, only to find they had already formed. [just like the covid injection/testing queues, but she’ll be right!!]

“I think we all just want to get it done and put this mess behind us,” she said. [just like the covid injections, let’s just get it over with – She’ll be right!!]
“You can’t really blame them (the TMR office staff) for making us line up outside, there are so many people affected by this.” [just like the covid injections – She’ll be right!!]
By all reports, once inside people found the process quick and easy, with customers in and out within 20 minutes.
